Longtown Primestock Sale Report
C&D Auction Marts had forward an entry of 6,057 sheep comprising of 2,346 lambs and 3,327 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown Mart on Thursday 7th August 2025.
PRIME LAMBS
A very good show of 2,346 Prime lambs forward to the same ring of purchasers ensuring all classes met a flying trade being dearer on the week and on the beginning of the week.
More required to fulfil increased purchaser demand for next week.

Another big show for the time of year and a trade to match. Over fat heavy ewes and best texel ewes sold to unseen rates. Lighter ewes realising same trade as previous weeks.

Light ewes topped at £182 for Lleyns from H. Goldie, South Bowerhouses
Swaledale Ewes proved very good to sell topping at £152 for the biggest Swaledale ewe to grace the ring for some time.
