Cumberland and Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward 3,927
head at their Annual Ewe Lamb Sale.
All lambs forward were extremely well presented, and a credit to
their owners. Mule Ewe Lambs sold to a top of £94.00 for a
wonderful pen from Messrs J.T. James, Midtodhills, with an overall
average of £55.71.
Cheviot Mule Ewe Lambs also attracted keen interest selling to
£70 from Messrs R. & T. Dun, Gilston, levelling at £53.68.
Texel crosses saw best sorts in demand to £70 from T. Carruthers,
Peela Hill.
Blackfaces sold to £40 from Dunblane with Suffolk crosses
to £40 from Commonside.
Prior to the sale a show sponsored by the Skelton Horticultural
& Agricultural Show Society was judged by Messrs Lane, Raeburnhead,
whose awards were as follows:-
